Ground Turkey Sauté
When simplicity meets delicious satisfaction, you know you’ve hit the jackpot with a dinner. Ground meats are an easy way to incorporate multiple veggies to sauté, making half (or more) of your plate vegetables. This yummy recipe is a surefire way to get your fiber and leaves opportunity for creative tastes based on your vegetable or meat preferences.
1 lb Lean ground Turkey meat
1 package baby portobello mushrooms, rinsed, de-stemmed, and cubed
½ yellow onion, chopped
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic salt
3 tablespoon marinara sauce
1 tablespoon coconut oil
- Heat the pan to medium heat and add the coconut oil.
- Add the onion and cook until tender. About 5 minutes.
- Add the Turkey meat to the pan with the onion and continue to cook while chopping the meat every few minutes and stirring around the contents of the pan.
- Add the Italian seasonings and garlic salt.
- After about 7 minutes add the mushrooms and continue to cook for another 7 minutes. The mushrooms will naturally start to release liquid into the pan.
- Let the liquid steam off for 3 more minutes and add the marinara sauce.
- Stir all the ingredients together to combine.
Feel free to mix in or exchange any vegetables to fit into what you have in season!
Buon Appetito!
